This is a bit of a new one for me. The AnxietyBlanket is a niche niche product. A super-sized 15lbs blanket, that for the life of me I cannot imagine a market for. I have checked out a wide variety of weighted blankets over the last few months, and the facts that I have collated all line up nicely, this product aims to blow one of them in particular out of the water, and after trying it out, I am not entirely convinced that I am wrong. But I am getting ahead of myself. First, we need to figure out who weighted blankets are for.
Why Should I Buy a Weighted Blanket?
There are many reasons to buy a weighted blanket. they help you sleep restfully for longer, they diminish anxiety and depression, they help you keep a handle on your anger, can be used in the treatment of insomnia and have been proven to aid those who suffer from ADHD or Spectrum Disorders. When I first read up on them I did not believe a word of it. These claims seem almost magical, so I dove into the science and found a huge variety of studies, all supporting the claims.
Best of all, the studies are from all over the world, so big Weighted Blanket can’t have paid for them. They work based on something called Deep Touch Pressure, when pressure is applied to the body you release serotonin and melatonin, and for serotonin starved disorders this is a god send. If you want to read my full report you can find it on site, along with a variety of sources.
AnxietyBlankets Weighted Blanket Build Quality & Materials
Off the bat, we are looking at a huge weighted blanket. That means that there is no cover. Bit of a shame, as this makes it a little more difficult to clean, and of course AnxietyBlankets sell a variety of covers. I like their selection, and some of them use alternative materials, allowing you to turn it into a sensory blanket if you want, but it does add to the price. The materials used here are fantastic, pure 100% cotton, combining that excellent triad of durability, breathability, and comfort that other materials tend to miss. I sleep on a hybrid mattress, with plenty of memory foam, and that means without the right cover materials I can sleep far too hot. With the use of cotton here we don’t have to worry about that. If you are in the same boat then avoid mink fabrics, as they retain heat something terrible. There are not color options, which is a shame, but the standard grey is not bad. I like minimalist modern designs, and the use of that color here markets the blanket to adults more than children.
On the inside we have more cotton, and the weight option is added by plastic poly pellets. I like poly pellets, but I prefer glass. Glass tends to have more even weight distribution than poly, but there are a num ber of benefits unique to poly pellets that cannot be overlooked, especially in terms of utility. For one things you can wash and dry this build in a machine. i do stress that when drying you have to use a low heat, else you risk damaging it, but I have dried a few over the last few months, and they come out lovely. There are few size and weight options here. And by that I mean we have none. The build only comes in 60″ x 80″ and 15lbs sizes. This is where their claims run contrary to my research. A properly fitted weighted blanket should fit flush with your bed, with no hang off, and unless you have a massive bed, this is likely not going to match that. In addition, the weight of the blanket should be 10% of your body weight, and with a 15lbs blanket that narrows the viable market from my perspective. You can get 2% up or down and be fine, but that is still a very small segment of the market, and much smaller than the claimed 100lbs to 150lbs.
AnxietyBlankets Weighted Blanket Overall Review
Overall there are a few things to like, but the product is seemingly wrong on a number of things. If we throw those out, then what we have is a wonderfully large, well balanced weighted blanket, perfect for those in the right weight class.
AnxietyBlankets Weighted Blanket Pricing & Returns Policy
The price is excellent. I have never seen a weighted blanket of this size and weight priced so lowly, and with this level of quality still intact. You can find the AnxietyBlanket right now on Amazon.com for $119.99. That’s a good $50 below average, and if you fall into the right niche then you can make a tidy little saving with this one.
The warranty is the usual. Not much to get excited about. There is the standard 1 year of limited coverage, covering on factory faults. I recommend you examine your purchase closely when you get it, in order to keep yourself covered. There are a few things you can do to increase your coverage, but the only one I can recommend is buying the AnxietyBlankets build from Amazon.com. Amazon has some of the best consumer protection policies on the market, and they have managed to help me out of a few holes in the past. They offer excellent peace of mind, and when it comes to buying low-cost items, they are a must.
AnxietyBlankets Weighted Blanket – Is it Worth it in 2018?
This is a bit of a mixed bag. The claims made on the store page are dubious, and the recommendations seem more concerned with selling the product to as many people as possible than helping as many people as possible. of course, they are running a business, so that makes sense, I can only hope folk read up on weighted blankets before buying. When I throw their claims out and look at this build for what it is, we are left with an excellent product. A weighted blanket made from top of the range materials, min a large form factor, and a good broad spectrum weight. The price is fantastic too, and if you are in the market for a large 15lbs weighted blanket then you have to check this one out.
Good Entry Level Blanket
Lack of Weight Options

Some Unrealistic Claims From Manufacturer
AnxietyBlankets makes a solid blanket overall with quality materials. Some of the claims made by the manufacturer seem a bit too good to be true, but this is still a good economically-priced option.
